A few weeks ago, while speaking for a large company, the salespeople asked their management what was being done to improve product quality, develop new designs and price products more competitively. The response from management was that the company had only a certain amount of money to spend and they were putting it into advertising.  Getting the product right would have to wait. I sat at the back of the room and cringed.

For years I’ve been telling clients that advertising is simply ‘creative bragging’…and that first we must get ‘good’ and then we brag.  Don’t brag and then try to figure out how the heck you’re going to pull it off.  This will usually end badly.

So, do you have it right in your business?  Are you the clear ‘wise choice’ for your target customers?  And are you focused on getting even better so that the bragging part comes easily?  When you’re offering clear and compelling value, compelling communication (advertising) is easy.
